About LL Sams Historical Lofts

In 1898, L. L. Sams, equipped with integrity and a catalog, began a pastoral sideline of selling furniture. The sideline put his children through college, and in 1946 they came back and built the manufacturing business that became known as L.L. Sams & Sons. In 1998, approximately 100 years from the company's initial founding, as the company was considering the relocation to a modern manufacturing facility, the vision was formed to transform the former factory to an exclusive residential community. The project is actually a community of historic buildings, each with unique features. Units contain a mix of hardwood and sealed concrete floors. Walls are the original historic brick or masonry surfaces. All units have full appliance packages, including microwave ovens and full-size washers and dryers. Electric fixtures and design are of a retro, industrial-type design. A pool at the center of the site is the centerpiece for the community. The adjacent former boiler facility and workshop area were converted to an open air pavilion. Covered parking is available for a number of residents and the project is gated.
